Best DVC Resorts to Buy on Resale in 2026 (Ranked by Value)
Not all DVC resorts are equal buys on the resale market. Here's how to rank them by true lifetime value, not just sticker price.
Why Resort Rankings Change With the Market
The "best" DVC resort to buy on resale isn't fixed. It shifts with ask prices, deed lengths, and annual dues. A resort that was a screaming deal in 2022 might be overpriced today, and vice versa.
That's why we rank by Lifetime Cost/pt rather than raw price per point. Lifetime Cost/pt captures everything: purchase price, transaction fees, and every maintenance due payment over the deed life. It's the only number that makes contracts at different resorts genuinely comparable.

The Framework: What Makes a Good Resale Buy
Three variables drive resale value:
1. Deed length remaining More years = more points = lower cost per point over time. A resort with 30 years left is worth significantly more than one with 14 years left, even at a higher asking price.
2. Annual dues Dues range from around $7–$10/pt across resorts. Over 30 years, a $2/pt difference on a 200-point contract is $12,000. This swamps most price-per-point differences between resorts.
3. Location demand Resorts that book up fast (Animal Kingdom, Beach Club, Polynesian) command a premium in the resale market that's often justified by their booking value to members.
High-Value Resorts in the Current Market
Riviera Resort (RIV)
Deed ends: 2070 | 44 years remaining
Riviera has the longest deed life of any currently-trading DVC resort. More years remaining means more lifetime points for every dollar spent, and the lifetime cost math shows it consistently ranks near the top for value buyers.
The caveat: Riviera points bought resale cannot be used at any other DVC resort (a Disney restriction on post-2019 resorts). You can only use RIV resale points at Riviera itself. For members who love the resort and plan to stay there, this isn't a problem. For those who want flexibility across all resorts, look elsewhere.
Copper Creek Villas (CCV)
Deed ends: 2068 | 42 years remaining
Copper Creek sits in the Magic Kingdom corridor at a lower price-per-point than the Grand Floridian next door. Deed ends 2068, which puts it second only to Riviera for raw remaining years. The resort itself (cabins and villas in a Pacific Northwest theme) appeals to a specific buyer, which keeps demand and therefore prices slightly softer than beachfront equivalents.
Saratoga Springs (SSR)
Deed ends: 2054 | 28 years remaining
The largest DVC resort by point inventory, which means the most listings and the lowest prices. SSR typically trades at the lowest price per point of any Orlando resort. The tradeoff: a 2054 deed is shorter than the newer resorts, and the resort's large size makes 7-month availability (when your home resort priority expires) easier to find than at smaller resorts.
For buyers who primarily want the flexibility to book across all Orlando resorts at 7 months, SSR's low lifetime cost per point and abundant availability make it a pragmatic choice.
Animal Kingdom Villas (AKV)
Deed ends: 2057 | 31 years remaining
AKV is a consistent value play. It's one of the harder resorts to book at 7 months (high demand from non-owners), making home resort priority genuinely valuable. The Savanna views are among the most memorable in DVC. And the dues are mid-range at around $8.00/pt.
The Jambo House vs Kidani Village split matters: Jambo is the original tower with better restaurant access, while Kidani is quieter and has a waterslide pool preferred by families. Both are on the same contract.
Resorts to Approach With Caution
Vero Beach (VBR) and Hilton Head (HHI)
Both resorts have shorter deeds and among the highest dues in the DVC portfolio. They're beach properties without the same booking demand as the theme park resorts. Lifetime cost per point tends to run high relative to what you get. Niche buyers who love these specific locations can find value, but they're not general-purpose DVC buys.
BoardWalk Villas (BWV)
Deed ends: 2042 | 16 years remaining
BoardWalk is beloved by members who've been in DVC for decades, and the location on the BoardWalk between Epcot and Hollywood Studios is genuinely exceptional. But with a 2042 deed end, you're buying 16 years of points. At current ask prices, the Lifetime Cost/pt math has to be extremely favorable to justify the short runway. Run the numbers carefully before committing.
The Right Way to Compare
Don't rely on this article alone. Market conditions shift and individual contracts vary widely even within the same resort. The best tool is to browse live listings sorted by lifetime cost per point and use our comparison metrics to find the contract that fits your use case at the current best price.
Every listing on our site shows acquisition cost, lifetime cost per point, true lifetime cost per point, deal score (relative to others at the same resort), and points availability breakdown. That's the complete picture.
